Never a Stranger | Airbnb
Agency: TBWA\Chiat\Day
Location: NYC, Paris, Tokyo, Rio, Talum
Over four weeks, we traveled to five cities—Paris, Tokyo, New York, Rio, and Tulum—meeting Airbnb hosts and photographing them in their homes and favorite spots. The days started to blur together. Planes, taxis, metros. One minute we were walking down quiet streets in Paris, the next, we were weaving through the crowds of Shibuya. In New York, we followed a host to a corner diner she loved, the kind of place that only locals know. Rio was heat and music, and Tulum felt like a slow exhale after all the movement.
Each home was different, yet they all had this way of grounding us, no matter where we were. Meals shared at small tables, coffee brewed in kitchens with windows that looked out onto streets we’d never seen before. Every host had a story about their city, and by the end, it felt like we had collected a bit of each one.
It wasn’t just the people or the places, I fell in love with the constant movement, the feeling of being both lost and at home wherever we went. Even if I never get a call again, I could retire happy having done this one.
